Why Did We Chose Homeschool?

WHY do we do this?    Because they’re worth it!

Home education isn’t really about “education”.  It’s about truth and learning; specifically the truth found in The Holy Bible and learning God’s design for His children. Man’s wisdom is insufficient and inadequate at it’s best; corrupt and perverse at it’s worse. Without studying God’s wisdom, how will our children know the standard?

This verse is so simple and so dear to me. “I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.” 3 John 1:4  I know Paul is speaking of those he lead to Christ, but I have double the joy.  My children know God and I pray they always walk in His truth.

God laid this verse on my heart when He knew I needed conviction to homeschool instead of mere preference. “For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. Do all things without murmurings and disputings: That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world.” Philippians 2:13-15   The moon is glorious because it reflects the light of the sun of our solar system.  It has no real natural beauty of it’s own.  That is us, no natural beauty, except, when we reflect the glory of God.  My purpose is to teach my children that and help them to find God’s purpose for their life, so that they may shine and be that light for others.

“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Romans 12:2

“Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen …” Jeremiah 10:2

“But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.” 1 Timothy 6:11

Oh, I could just go on and on, but from the way I see it, public schools have gone beyond what we think of as secular. Humanism is their religion, evolution their sacred cow, and moral relativism their path.  His children don’t belong there.
