1/15/11 ~ Wallpaper – yuk.

I successfully resisted the urge to visit the Y today, opting for an upper body workout while removing wallpaper. It wasn’t torture, but I saved the worst for later….One, possibly 2 layers of wallpaper with at least 2 coats of paint.

Here’s a picture of the granite slab. This is called builder’s grade. According to our friend and the granite place, it is not a lower quality stone, it is just more readily available and there is a demand for it. That is why it is kept in good supply at the granite places. This one is called St. Cecelia and I can’t take my eyes off it. It is amazing how different the same kind of granite can be and a testament to the wonders of God’s creation.

Granite slab
The first two pieces have already been bought by someone else. We will go back and pick out our slab after they come take measurements.
Still toying w/the idea of going with a black granite for the island. St. Cecelia will be the counter top for along the outer wall and again on a small desk space (yet to be built).

My crochet is coming along again, after taking almost a year off due to tendonitis and a case of ‘i don’t want to’.
Aran Afghan A small sampler for charity.
Another 12″ block for a Christmas Throw.

Tonight’s microwave meal brought to me by Lean Cuisine – Chicken Parmesan – not all together terrible. I will probably be hungry in an hour.

I know what you mean about the Lean Cuisine…bought some for DH for lunch for work and he said the same thing. It was not nearly enough.

My inlaws are also Granite shopping and I just learned about how you pick out your actual slab. Interesting!
