Two things you learned about America during this year’s election.
1 — 65 million Americans think abortion is OK, even gross late term abortion
2 — racism and bipartisanship is alive and well and kicking

Name two terms that you learned throughout this campaign.
1 — yellow dog democrat
2 — woman’s right to privacy aka abortion; formerly known as a woman’s right to choose

I’m so sad about the state of our country and how they have treated President Bush with so little respect. I sometimes fear I will have no voice to represent what I believe. I thought America was about freedom to practice what you believe and be free of persecution.
    However, when I feel afraid I remember the verse you posted. Ps27:14 Wait for the LORD;
    be strong and take heart
    and wait for the LORD
It takes a lot of courage but I’m going to keep praying and waiting on the Lord.
I saw this on the presential prayer team site and thought it was encouraging.
Pray for President Bush as on November 11, Veteran’s Day, he visits the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum in New York, and makes remarks at the rededication of the museum. The President will be presented with the 2008 Intrepid Freedom Award, which recognizes world leaders who embody the ideals of world freedom and democracy. Of the many guests in attendance, 2,500 of them will be veterans, who will also take place in New York City’s Veteran’s Day Parade. Give thanks for this meaningful event and pray for God’s presence and protection over all who participate.

    Big Hugs (((Sheri)))

Big Hugs for you too, Lisa! It’s a blessing to see that America still honors President Bush and the presidency in general. My Dad and some of his fellow Veterans in his home town of Atchison, Kansas were honored during the college football game this past week. It is especially cool because my nephew is playing on this team and he felt just as honored to have his Grandpa out there. God always gives us a thread of hope even in times such as these.

Two things I learned about America
    1. If you are rich, people think that you should share your money with the rest of America.
    2. People are beginning to trust government rather than God.

Two terms I learned about this campaign
    1. Straw Man-I had heard it before, but I wanted to understand it. I know that my kids will be taking Logic, homeschool or not.
    2. RINO-Republican in Name Only.

“Straw man fallacy” — thanks for the new term, Tressa. It’s been a season rich in red herring, for sure and a great opportunity to study logic of any sort.

I knew before the campaign, but with absolute certainty, I learned that Americans are subjected to propaganda from the media and from the parties.

I learned a lot more, but I am under the weather and don’t feel like thinking about depressing things.

One thing I will say is that I feel the exactly same way as Lisa regarding President Bush.

I’m sorry you’re not feeling well, Donna and that I didn’t shed any light on your day. I think I am grieving, actually.

I think you might be. I am a fuddy-duddy today. I had to go to warmart today for the other sick people in the house and since I am sick too, I wore clothes that said – keep away (sadly, nothing neoprene though) and I wore my sunglasses and black gloves inside the store too. lol
I pitied the person behind me because I had to take off a glove and touch the touch screen at the self-serve checkout.

That was supposed to be vinyl, not neoprene. See I am not all here.

    whats a yellow dog democrat?

Surprisingly, it doesn’t have anything to do with yellow snow.

    The story goes like this:
Jesus Christ is on the ballot as the running Republican.
A yellow dog is on the ballot as the running Democrat.

Folk that will vote for the yellow dog are yellow dog democrats. 🙄 OK, maybe it does have something to do with yellow snow….sorta.

Two things I learned about America:
1- too many people vote because it’s cool, yet pay no attention to the real issues at hand, therefore make STUPID choices.
2- No one under 30 voted Republican 😦

    Two terms I learned:
1- Chrystal, that man is an idiot. through my many political convesations with dear mom.
2- what socialism really means. through my many political conversations with my mom of course.

Oh, you made me laugh today! 🙂
