I had a lovely lunch w/my dear friend, Mrs. B. today. She rec’d a rather distressing call from her Dr’s office, so I took her to see him as soon as we finished lunch. Everything ended up being OK though! We ended up having many hours together this afternoon and we had a great time despite that fact that we waited in a Dr’s waiting room for over 1 1/2 hours!
My dinner plans were pretty much shot by the time I got home. Even though it was crocked in the pot, there wasn’t enough time to throw the rest of the stuff together before church. We finished off the leftovers in the frig instead and hit the road to church.
We pulled into the church parking lot to see a cop car w/ lights a flashin’….something you don’t see often. Apparently one of the young college boys decided it was a good idea to drive 50 mph in the 30 mph zone in front of the church. Anyway, tonite was awards night for the children in King’s Kids and we had a small valentine-ish snack and a little foamy door hanger project in addition to lessons & verses. Easy projects like the foamies are a nice way to have biblical but not teachy conversations w/the children.
It was a bit out of the ordinary for a valentine’s day….but nonetheless, a gift.
